Aah, this was fun. I've sketched her before but never picked actual colours for her~
She's based on a Tahitian Pearl - but I call her Teal XDD
Teal is definitely clever- and manipulates her owner (who is quite awful to her - and likes to show her control over her Pearl with chains)...
Teal likes to escape- simply because she smart enough to do it- but she has no real aspirations of getting away. In her mind- she's a slave and nothing more ;3;
But still- she makes lots of friends though- mostly by manipulating higher up gems to overlook mistakes made by lower gems.

Weirdly enough, the other thing I thought first was that she could fit right into "Hercules: The Animated Series". It's got this stylised angular way of drawing people and the god characters tend to have weird (non-human) skin tones, SO...
(And that's a compliment by the way. Hercules is one of my (other!) favourite cartoons ever! )
